This course is designed to enable Journalists, Close Protection Operators, NGO staff and other private & public sector employees to identify & recognize the common components of IEDs, Landmines & Explosive Remnants of War; To aid their understanding of the IED, ERW & Mine threat; and to provide guidance and advice on how to address those threats when operating in hostile environments. There are no pre-course requirements to take this course.
Learning how to avoid or respond to IED, landmine or other Explosive Remnant of War (ERW) incident is a critical requirement for any individual travelling to a hostile environment or ERW affected area.
The 16-hour duration of this online course will be delivered in 45-60 minute sessions, and is designed specifically with Journalists, Close Protection Operators, NGO staff and other private sector employees in mind. The MAT Kosovo Media, NGO & Hostile Environment Operators IED & Landmine Awareness course is a fully immersive training experience that introduces delegates to a number of real-World scenarios in the form of multi-media case studies and highly interactive instruction. It has been created for Close Protection Operatives as well as all official 'frontline' organizations such as Media, Listed Charities, Aid Agencies, UN organizations, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), governments, construction companies, and other private-sector entities operating in potentially volatile areas around the world to enable them to identify & recognize the common components of IEDs, Landmines & Explosive Remnants of War; To aid their understanding of the IED, ERW & Mine threat; and to provide guidance and advice on how to address those threats when operating in hostile environments.
